Backpack

Location:  Alaska, Denali National Park

Always on the lookout for unexpected grizzly bears in the back country in Alaska, I find sketching ideal because it is quick.  I can keep my marker pen and small sketchbook handy in a waist pouch next to my bear spray, so I am ready for anything.  It’s big country, so concentrating on vignettes helps bring the landscape down to scale!  Here is my husband’s pack in the middle of an 8-day backpack in the Savage Valley.
